I always wish I had Greg with me when I am shooting shots like these so I can get them right. So bitterly cold my fingers were froze in no time. As cold as the water.
After we thawed out my husband took me out to eat and bought me this lovely rose. Worth freezing my you know what off.

Beautiful pics. I don't think you need help to get them right at all. You are a good photographer yourself! Am I mistaken, but is that waterfall frozen? It's hard for me to tell.
Glad you made it home safely.
Kudos for Rick for getting you a rose! Give him a hug.

Wonderful photos Julie...it looks like you had the world to yourself too. There didn't seem to be anyone else around whilst you were taking them. I wonder why? Lol! Jeanie. Brrrrr!
what a wonderful way to spend valentine's day. you did a wonderful job with the pics, and it makes me cold just looking at em!! lol bet its a beautiful place to visit in the spring, too.

Shoot, you don't need me around. I think these turned out just fine. The falls are just about completely frozen over, but you still managed to get some very cools shots of it. I like the muddy ice over to the side. I'm glad you picked that out, and used that as a primary element for a few frames. The one with the hut over the ravine is very interesting as well. You did a very good job with a difficult exposure in the ones with the setting sun reflecting. It appears as though you were able to control your highlights while still keeping detail in the darker areas.

Those pictures are beautiful Julie as well as the rose. Thanks for sharing them. Helen
I think you did an excellent job of shooting the photo's under the extreme conditions. It looks like the North Pole! It will be interesting to see the falls during the spring/summer in comparison should you do another entry on them. I just changed my dial-up on AOL to $9.95/month and had been paying $17.95 with a one year contract. I cannot figure out what the difference is in service. It is cold here in S. Illinois with down to 13 degrees at 5 am. I cannot sleep at night during the weather with my back pain. I am feeling better this afternoon after getting several hours sleep this morning. It is now in the mid 20's. That was a nice gift and a good photo of the yellow rose from your husband for Valentine's Day. mark
All the photo's are just beauties...loved them all...have a great Friday...hugs,

wow, that is so cool...literaly. lol Almost surreal. Love ya, Shelly
Thanks for visiting my journal. I thought I'd repay the compliment, and I'm glad I did. Those pics are excellent. It's notoriously difficult to get the correct exposure with snow but you did really well.

You don't need Greg. ::wink:: These are lovely photos. Makes me miss the snow in Colorado. We were in a blizzard there in March of 2002 and snowed in for two days!
Blessings!~
Susan
