Last entry
I didn't think this day would come when I started this journal. It is a sad and difficult thing for me to lose. Fortunately I was able to save my pictures. I can start a new journal but my beginnings were here. It won't be the same. Please leave your links. We shall meet again in different photo blogs.

Its too soon yet for the N's for the A to Z photo shoots, but I am going to post it now since I work the next 5 nights and leave the link when the time comes. I am either behind or ahead, LOL.
N for natural, nature, National park type pictures.

September fun, playing with shadows.
After a long bike ride in September, finishing it off outside with a cool one hits the spot. I missed the actual entry but took this shot after our ride the other day and liked it.

K
Ok, I am behind, LOL. This will have to do. K for kill zone. In the area's where the hot streams broke through it kills the trees. Their white twisted skeletons are all over the park, replaced by hot bubbly blue holes in the ground. Now to come up with a L. Since I traveled for 3 weeks I should have something in these few hundred photo's that will do.

Just happen to have one.
Nancy mentioned the deer drinking out of the water and just reminded me of this old shot.

Lake
Notice on the below picture the edges are blurred. Why? I am wondering what caused this. I have seen in on several pictures.

M=Moose
I am behind on my letters, for the A to Z Photo Challenge at Perceptions. I need a K and a L. So for now here is my M while I look through the new photos I took. For now here is the bull moose that ran across the road. What a wonderful creature.

Things I noticed
Greg among others recommended I bring both camera's which I did. I am so glad. I have always been more of a point and shoot picture taker. The canon requires more set up and thought process, at least for me right now. The above picture was with the soni.
The bottom one with the canon. You can tell we had lots of cloudy days. I like the quality of both pictures but I think the Canon wins.
However..... for pictures of animals that wouldn't stand still, this wild mustang walking down the road at Theodore Roosevelt National Park I needed the soni. For the Moose....I needed the Soni, any fast moving animal like Antelope....the soni. by the time I got the Canon set up I just got butt shots. Does it get quicker as you get used to the camera?
Now taking shots around here is going to be difficult. Sigh. Time to travel again.

Animals from the Trip
I decided to do a slideshow because it just looks better larger. I am slowly getting them loaded. Anyway there is a horse picture that I just really love. can you guess which one? That little squirrel was behind our cabin and just the loudest chattiest thing you ever saw. It yelled at us every morning while we had coffee on the deck. We saw buffalo in every park we went to. Lots of antelope.
AOL Community Photo Challenge: Summer
Entries need to be in on Thursday, September 11th, to be eligible to enter the first Challenge of the new year. We will select the top images that best represents the subject "Summer"--AND comprises the best photographic qualities (composition, lighting, etc., as well as presentation). We are looking for your best or favorite shot of Summer 2008. Once we select the top images, we will post a poll and let the AOL Community decide the Best Summer Photo of 2008. The poll will be posted on Friday, September 12th, along with the top images. Voting will end on Sunday, September 14th.
I have several pictures I could choose from but this one I think really shows the fun we had looking at all the beautiful area's in this country. This is Rick on top of the highest overlook at Flaming Gorge. It was a beautiful day and the view took our breath away.

Grand Tetons
For the longest time I wanted to see the Grand Tetons. I did finally. Plus Yellowstone, Cameron Pass, Colorado, Montana, Wyoming, North Dakota and South Dakota. I will slowly be posting pictures but it is slow going. I am glad I brought both camera's. My spare battery on the Canon died and it took me awhile to get used to using it. Today the store replaced the entire camera because the battery was dead. So today I start all over with a brand new Canon. So anyway....expect lots of pictures slowly. It takes so much time to sort and download them.

3 More
Now I don't edit most of my pictures. Sometimes I add a boarder on photobucket. I think the parrot photo will look better slightly cropped but am running out of time before I go to work. I work the next week and then am on vacation for 3 weeks. I can't wait.
I got several of this guy because he is so cute. A 2 toed sloth
Greg has been helping me alot and I have been referring to his Tips and Tricks journal has a great teaching tool. I am looking for a color meter as I think my color must not be true on this monitor but I think it is close. So I don't want to alter any pictures with a program and find out they were good to start with, Yah know. LOL. I think the best way to view most pics is with the slide show view so will show some that way.
By all and thanks for the great comments.

As I was Scuba Diving the other day
Enjoying the cool water and the feeling of weightlessness.........
Looking at all the beautiful fish and critters under the sea.
I was having such a great time even the seaweed winked at me.
I even found Nemo and helped him find his way home.
And to help out the city I even got rid of some barnacles on the pier
Leaving some for the wild fishies because...hey...that is just the kind of woman I am :-)
Deeper and deeper I went. The fish got bigger and stranger looking.
Some were downright frightening and larger the the biggest ship
Some were giving me the evil eye and the hairs on the back of my neck were starting to float up.
I could see them ganging up on me.
They were pointing the way for the bigger fish to find me.
Until finally the biggest meanie of them all...... There she is....there she is
And remembering Steve I hurried to the.....exit
To arrive safely outside the aquarium exit to tell you all my scary tale.
Now isn't that better then Hey, look at the fish pictures I took?
